Dr. Abdul Rouf, PhD, currently serving as the Director of Operations for Clinical Trial Unit at HMC, overseeing Clinical Trial Management that includes; supporting and facilitate all Clinical Trials conducted across HMC. Previously, worked as the Assistant Director of the Pharmacy at Executive Pharmacy Directors’ office, in addition to his extended role as a Drug Information Supervisor, Co-head of Continuing professional Development and Head of Pharmacy Practice Research. He specializes in Medication safety practices including Adverse Drug Reactions, Medication Error, Quality and Patient safety and Continuing Professional Development. He served as a committee member in several committees including, Pharmacy& Therapeutic committee, Clinical guidelines and other committees related to pharmacy profession at Ministry of Public health and Department Of Health Professionals.

His specific interest is in advancing an evidence-based approach in the development of policies and guidelines in areas related to obstetric and genecology. Dr Rouf has completed his MPharm in General Pharmacology from India; he also attained an MSc in Clinical Pharmacology and PhD in Complementary and Alternative Medications from University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. His Doctoral thesis specializes in Safety of Complementary and Alternative Medications in Pregnancy. He has also
received, certifications in Clinical Toxicology & Drug Information from the University of Florida, and Purdue University – USA, Additionally, trained in Pharmacovigilance from Uppsala Monitoring Center, WHO-Sweden.

Dr. Rouf has authored more than 90 publications with three book chapters and serves as reviewer for the numerous international high impact journals. Dr. Rouf also served as a speaker, presenter and scientific committee member in several national and international conferences/events. He also served as a Hospital research officer and Director of research at the Women’s Wellness and Research Center (WWRC).
