VILLEJUIF, France--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Five major cancer organizations which have endorsed previous events in the WIN Symposium Series, are also endorsing the WIN 2014 Symposium, to be held in Paris, June 23 - 24. The high scientific level and expected strong impact of this symposium are reflected by endorsements received from ASCO*, ESMO, EORTC, ESO, and UICC.
Exceptional agenda featuring top speakers
The WIN 2014 Symposium will be an exceptional event dedicated to breakthroughs in the pursuit of “precision medicine” for highly personalized cancer therapy. The concept of precision medicine is proving increasingly promising in ongoing clinical trials of smart combinations of targeted and immunological agents directed against the specific molecular abnormalities of an individual patient’s cancer.
These and other themes will be elaborated by global leaders in cancer research and patient care, including Dr. Robert Weinberg, the world’s authority in tumor molecular biology. Other Keynote Lectures will be presented by: Dr. Leroy Hood (USA), Dr. Guido Kroemer (France), Dr. Hans Clevers (Netherlands); Dr. René Bernards (Netherlands), and others.
Mr. Scott P. Serota, President and CEO of Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), will set the scene for the Symposium by delivering the Opening Address. Mr. Serota’s association provides health care coverage to one in every three US citizens.
Fully accredited education
The WIN 2014 Symposium program has received accreditation as an educational activity for medical specialists, as follows:
UEMS-EACCME: 12 European CME credits (ECMEC), also valid for US and Canadian physicians under mutual recognition agreements
ESMO-MORA: 10 cat. 1 ESMO-MORA points
Research scientists encouraged to join
Scientists and clinicians conducting relevant cancer research may actively participate in the Symposium by submitting abstracts of their work. They may compete for the best poster awards offered by the organizers.
